Community groups
Solar for North East community groups
Two routes, depending on where the panels are going. Members' homes can each have a plug-in kit. A hall, church or clubhouse needs an installed system, quoted by an installer.
Group buys of plug-in kits for members' homes
A group can coordinate an order of plug-in kits for members' own homes, one kit per household, each registered by that household at myplugin.solar before first use. The usual home rules apply: a weatherproof outdoor socket within 4m, modern RCD protection, permission if renting.
To price a group order, use the bulk quote form.
Community buildings: an installed system, by quote
Plug-in solar rules are written for homes, so plug-in kits aren't for community buildings. A hall or clubhouse needs a solar system designed and fitted by an installer.
We're lining up installers for this. Register interest below and we'll come back to you. We'll only pass your details to an installer once we've told you who they are and you've said yes.
What the installer needs from you
- the building's postcode and who owns it
- the roof type, and roughly which way it faces
- when the building is used, since daytime use makes the most of solar
- a recent electricity bill or yearly usage, if you have it
- anyone whose permission is needed, such as a landlord or trustees

Questions
Do you install systems yourselves?

Can members each get a kit at home?
