Hybrid mount · 2 × 630W · up to 799VA
Max 1260W plug-in solar kit (hybrid mount)
Two 630W panels, the most panel power in the range and the basis of our headline saving figure. Over 960W, so a professional check of each home's electrics is advised.

What's in each carton
- 2 × 630W TOPCon N-type panels (bifacial, glass-glass)
- 1 × APsystems EZ1-M 800W microinverter
- Hybrid aluminium mounting frame with ballast brackets, for a wall or the ground
- 4m AC cable
Ballast isn't in the carton. On the ground, the hybrid frame is held with expansion bolts or ballast on its lower feet. The maker's manual says the ballast must suit the spot and its wind, and the ground-mount ballast table doesn't apply to this frame. Ask us and we'll get the maker's figure before any kit goes out ballasted.
Placement rules per property
The frame sets up on level ground (about 5.0m × 1.2m) or fixes to a solid house wall. The maker requires a professional assessment before any wall, flat-roof or raised install, so book that per property before fixings go in.
Out of bounds for every kit
- balconies (the maker's datasheet says not suitable for use on balconies)
- walls on a property boundary, including walls shared with a neighbouring home
- buildings with timber, ACM, MCM or HPL cladding, or under external wall remediation
- fixings with cable ties, rope, straps or tape
In England, a wall-mounted kit mustn't stick out beyond the set limits, can't go on a street-facing wall in a conservation area, and isn't allowed on a listed building. In Scotland and Wales, check with the council.
Each kit plugs straight into a weatherproof outdoor socket (at least IP55) within its 4m cable. The maker designs the kits for an outdoor socket fitted and certified by a qualified electrician, with modern RCD protection in the consumer unit. No extension leads, cable reels or adaptors.
More than 960W of panels. The government's product specification says that above 960W, users should consider a professional assessment of their electrical installation. Allow for an electrics check at each address.
Across the North East, registration at myplugin.solar notifies Northern Powergrid, the network operator, for each address.
Checks for every household
Run through these at each address before the kit is allocated. If one can't be ticked, that address waits.
- Written permission from the freeholder or managing agent where you don't own the freehold, and the tenant told before install day.
- A professional assessment first if the frame is going on a wall, a flat roof or anything raised.
- A professional check of the electrics: this kit has more than 960W of panels.
- A weatherproof outdoor socket within 4m of the spot, and modern RCD protection in the consumer unit. An electrician can fit or check both.
- Straight into the wall socket. No extension leads, cable reels or adaptors, and the factory plug is never cut off.
- One kit only at that address, and never alongside a home battery.
- Registered free at myplugin.solar before first use, against that address.
- The building insurer told before the kit goes in.

Trade buyer questions
Is the £180 saving figure based on this kit?
Yes. Around £180 a year is our estimate for this kit in a busy four-person home using 70% of what it makes, at the 26.32p price cap unit rate. Real savings vary by home. The tenant savings estimator shows the working.
Can we install several on one property?
No. The rules allow one plug-in solar kit per household. A block of six flats can have six kits, one per flat, each registered to its own address.
Who registers the kit?
Each kit is registered free at myplugin.solar before first use, against the address it's installed at. Put it on your install checklist so no kit is switched on unregistered.
Is ballast part of the order?
Ballast isn't in the carton. We can quote concrete blocks alongside the kits, sized to the maker's guidance for each site.
Can we resell it?
Approved resellers can, exactly as the maker supplies and registers it: no rebranding of the product, no changed cables or parts. See resellers.
